Easter Events in Lakeview: the 4 plans that actually matter

Kaitlyn Hurley·March 26, 2026·

You don’t need a huge list to figure out Easter in Lakeview. There are really four solid options, and they each fill a different lane.

The main event

Hamlin Park Easter Egg Hunt
Sunday, March 29 · 10:00am

If you want a classic egg hunt, this is it. Thousands of eggs, tons of kids, and it’s over almost as quickly as it starts. They break it out by age group, but it still moves.

This is the one where you show up a little early, let your kid go all in, and then hang in the park after once things calm down. Also probably your best shot at cute spring photos without having to plan anything extra.

The more relaxed option

Missio Dei Wrigleyville (Blaine Elementary)
Saturday, April 4 · 10:00am + 11:00am hunts

This one feels more like a neighborhood invite than a big event. It’s hosted by a local church, but very clearly open to everyone.

There are still thousands of eggs and a big turnout, but it doesn’t have the same rushed energy. The two hunt times help, and people tend to stick around after. Coffee, donuts, kids running around. It’s easy.

A good option if you want something festive that doesn’t feel intense.

The one you had to plan ahead for

Gallagher Way Easter Egg Hunt
Saturday, April 4 · timed entry (11:00am, 11:45am, 12:30pm)

This is the most built-out option in Lakeview, set right next to Wrigley Field with a more structured, event-style setup.

Kids hunt for candy-filled eggs in timed waves, and you’re expected to arrive about 15 minutes before your slot. There are also extras like Easter Bunny photos, face painting, and other activities around the space, so it feels more like a full event than just a quick hunt.

The catch is that you have to pre-register for a spot, and those reservations go fast. If you didn’t grab one when registration opened, it’s unlikely you’ll get in. Sometimes tickets pop up in local Facebook groups if plans change, but it’s not something to rely on.

Adults can attend without registering, but kids need a confirmed reservation to participate, and you’ll need to show it at entry.

If you do have a spot, it’s a really smooth, well-run experience. Just plan your timing around your assigned slot.

The easiest option

Lakeview Easter Celebration (Lincoln & Wellington)
Saturday, April 4 · 11:00am–12:00pm

This is the simplest plan on the list. A one-hour pop-up designed for families with small kids, with free Easter Bunny photos, giveaways, and a few easy activities.

No egg hunt, no chaos. You stop by, get your photos, hang for a bit, and move on.

How to think about the weekends

Sunday, March 29:
This is basically Hamlin Park Easter Egg Hunt’s day. If you want a traditional egg hunt without overthinking it, do that and you’re set.

Saturday, April 4:
You have options, and this is where it gets a little more mix-and-match:

  • Missio Dei Wrigleyville → relaxed, community feel
  • Gallagher Way Easter Egg Hunt → structured, pre-registered event
  • Lakeview Easter Celebration → quick pop-in

Can you do more than one?

On April 4, yes.

  • Gallagher Way Easter Egg Hunt + Lakeview Easter Celebration is the easiest combo if timing lines up
  • Missio Dei Wrigleyville + Lakeview Easter Celebration is also doable since Lakeview Easter Celebration is quick
  • Trying to do all three will feel like a lot unless you’re really committed

The simple way to decide

  • Want the classic egg hunt → Hamlin Park Easter Egg Hunt
  • Want something welcoming and relaxed → Missio Dei Wrigleyville
  • Already have a Gallagher Way ticket → Gallagher Way Easter Egg Hunt
  • Want something quick and easy → Lakeview Easter Celebration

If you do Hamlin Park Easter Egg Hunt on March 29 and then pick one (or two) of the April 4 options, you’ve pretty much nailed Easter in Lakeview.
